Prof. Ljupco Sotiroski is the head of the Cathedra for European Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law – State University “Goce Delcev”–Stip. In 2007 he defended his PhD thesis entitled “Safety and Single European Sky” and obtained title PhD in International Law. Previously in 2001 he has been awarded with degree Master of International Air and Space Law at Leiden University, Faculty of Law, IIASL. Currently, his academic research field is focusing on the area of International Public Law, EU Law, EU Policies, EU Law, Justice and Home affairs, International Transport and Shipping and Trade Law.
Prof. Sotiroski has been actively participating in various international events, courses, workshops, conferences, seminars in the field of Aviation, especially focusing on Air and Space Law. Special attention has been provided to the Educational and Scientific events related to the Competitive aerospace environment, Developments in European Aerospace Transport Law and Policy, The Challenges to Air and Space Law in the 21st Century, as well as International Aviation Law and Terrorism. Currently, he is a project coordinator of EU Jean Monnet project “Policy and Politics of EU Enlargement”.
Within the period March 2003 until end of March 2005, based on Contractual Agreement between Macedonian CAA and EUROCONTROL, HQ in Brussels, he was appointed as a Coordinator for Law and Institutions within Project ASATC – Aviation Safety and Air Traffic for Western Balkan countries. Also, he was appointed as Project Coordinator for the separation of Regulatory and Operational Functions in Air Traffic Management of the CAA of the Republic of Macedonia (2005 -2006), establishing MAKNAV, the new Service Provider. From 1993 until 2006 he was employed in the Ministry of Transport and Communication (CAA). In the period 1997-1999 he was a General Director of the Macedonian Civil Aviation Authorities.
