PROF. – Giuseppe Cataldi, Vice-President of the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, is full professor of International Law and holder of a EU’s “Jean Monnet” ad personam Chair on the «Protection of Human Rights in Europe». Director of the National Researches Council’s Institute of International Juridical Studies (Naples’ Branch), President of the International Association of Maritime Law (ASSIDMER), Vice-President of the Italian Society of International Law.
He has given courses abroad, in particular in the following Universities: Paris 1 Sorbonne, Krakow, Wroclaw, Tunis, Tirana, Brest, Sévilla, Cordoba, Porto, Pechino, Shanghai, Xiamen, Cairo, Alexandrie, Santiago (Chili), Rabat, Quito, and at the International Criminal Court. He gave a course in 2007 at the Hague Academy of International Law on “the execution of international decisions in domestic systems”.
Advisor to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the Italian Ministry of European Policies, to the «NATO Italian Civil Staff Association», to the EU Commission, to the Consular Corps of Naples, to the Municipality of Naples, to the Regional Government. Co-director of “Diritti umani e diritto internazionale”, co-editor of the Judicial Decisions Section of “The Italian Yearbook of International Law”, Member of the Group of experts on the “Governance of the Mediterranean Sea” appointed by IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature).
