DR. Douglas Guilfoyle
Douglas is a Reader in Law at the Faculty of Laws, University College London, which he joined in 2007. His research interests include: piracy; fisheries management; drug smuggling; migrant smuggling and human trafficking; and maritime terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. He has acted as a consultant on maritime security issues to a number of government agencies and international organisations including Working Group 2 of the Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia. He holds his LLM and PhD from the University of Cambridge and undergraduate degrees from the Australian National University.
